Birthday Celebrations...

When your child observes a birthday at home, we will mark the occasion at school with a small celebration.  We are asking parents to please send to school a short story of your child’s life.  A one sentence about each year of life is all that is needed. For example:

Sarah was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Oct, 1, 1980.
During her first year, she began to get teeth (or moved to a new house, or visited Grandma……)
Then Sarah was one.
During her second year, she got a dog and named him Blackie.
Then Sarah was two.
During the third year…………

Let your child help write this story with you. It is enjoyable to discover what events they consider memorable. The family photograph album is a great resource in remembering past events of significance. Please remember to bring this story on the day of the celebration.

Your child may also wish to bring a special treat to share with the class. Birthdays are a big occasion in the life of the child .We want to make this special day meaningful and happy, while keeping the celebration simple and short.
